The ASCA National Model®: A Framework for School Counseling Programs outlines the components of a school counseling program integral to the school’s mission. 

Learn the basics of the ASCA National Model® and conceptualize how your current school counseling work fits into the ASCA National Model® framework. 

Learning Objectives
After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the purpose of the ASCA National Model®
  • Summarize the Define, Manage, Deliver and Assess components of the ASCA National Model®
  • Discuss how current school counseling activities and results align with the ASCA National Model®
  • 4.Identify school counseling activities that don’t align with the ASCA National Model® and the school counselor’s role
  • Provide an overview of the three broad results of a school counseling program and how they are measured
  • Explain how components of the ASCA National Model® align with each tier of the MTSS structure

The workshop may be adjusted to some extent based on participants’ needs and progress.
