ASCA National Model®: Identify and Address Achievement Gaps with Tier 2

The ASCA National Model® guides school counselors through designing, planning and implementing the school counseling program. In addition to planning how each and every student will learn the ASCA Student Standards through lessons and small groups, school counselors also identify and address achievement gaps. Walk through an immediately tangible step of implementing the ASCA National Model® – developing an achievement gap plan to address the needs of students who are not reaching achievement goals or benchmarks.

Learning Objectives
After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Access and describe the ASCA Student Standards
  • Provide an overview of the three broad results of a school counseling program and how they are measured
  • Identify school counseling data priorities aligned with the school improvement plan
  • Identify specific standards in the ASCA Student Standards delivery plan that will be delivered through Tier 2 activities
  • Plan how the ASCA Student Standards will be delivered using small-group sessions as a Tier 2 strategy
  • Create achievement gap plans to address the needs of students who are not reaching achievement goals or benchmarks

Schedule: Full-day training; 0.6 CEUs available to attendees

Cost: $4,000* for full day

To bring this professional development workshop to your district, email Jennifer Walsh.

*In circumstances requiring extensive travel arrangements, additional fees may apply.
