SCA Advocacy/Legislative Webpages
An SCA’s advocacy webpage provides essential information for members to know what is taking place in the general assembly or other regulating agencies that may impact their work, and specific SCA advocacy events and activities, as well as necessary resources to support state and local/district advocacy work.
The design and content of advocacy webpages should reflect your SCA’s brand and voice, your members’ needs and interests, and the information that’s most important to keep members informed, including Legislative Priorities, Bills of Interest, Advocacy Initiatives, Advocacy How-To for Members, a link for members who need help with an issue, and more.
Consider these best practices:
- Consider how your SCA will keep information as current as possible. Discuss what you need to make it simple, clear and effective.
- Determine who will be the contact person for members to share information. This could be an email or some other application that notifies staff or designated person of a member needing help.
- Avoid clutter on the page. Organization is essential. Make it easy for members to find and navigate advocacy information.
