Role of the School Counselor
- How does the school counselor’s role support the school’s mission?
- What do you see as the most effective use of a school counselor’s time?

- What do you think is the most important characteristic of a school counselor? What’s the most essential characteristic school counselors have that supports a caring/supportive school climate for all students?

Scenarios
- What type of events would you plan for students to help them become college and career ready? Please share some of your experiences with these sorts of activities.
- Imagine it is February. What's your plan to ensure your current juniors have a plan for postsecondary success? Please include aspects of both academic and financial planning. How will you pace your juniors and yourself?
- Imagine it is December. You have a senior who entered the United States earlier that summer and doesn't speak English. He is failing English 4 and Algebra II. He stopped attending school 12 days ago. He is in danger of not graduating. What would be your plan to intervene?
- Given a caseload of approximately 250 students, how do you plan on prioritizing to ensure all students maintain good attendance?
