NvSCA would like to help our members grow as school counseling professionals. We have been making plans to offer our members professional development on topics that are relevant to Nevada’s school counselors during the 2020–21 school year. Providing virtual professional learning will allow school counselors throughout our state the opportunity to participate. To help us better understand where our members would like assistance, we have created an interest survey. Please take the time to complete it and let us know what professional development topics interest you. Access the interest survey here
We have also formed three committees as ways for our members to expand their roles in NvSCA. Two of the committees will be focused on advocacy, particularly during the upcoming 81st (2021) Session of the Nevada Legislature. The third committee will focus on activities for our membership. Here is a brief description of each of the committees:
The Community and Professional Relations Committee shall promote and facilitate collaboration between NvSCA and other institutions, organizations and associations that share common interests or goals.
The Government Affairs Committee shall advocate for school counselors and the school counseling profession at the state and national legislative levels.
The Membership Committee shall promote and facilitate the recruitment and retention of NvSCA members.
If you are interested in joining one of these committees, please complete the NvSCA Interest Survey and provide us with your contact information.
The NvSCA Interest Survey was emailed to our current members; access it online here.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the NvSCA Interest Survey.
