Casey Lancaster is a lifelong Birmingham resident with over 20 years’ experience as a counselor in diverse disciplines. After graduating with her bachelor of science in human development from the University of Alabama in 1996, she attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned her master’s degree in agency counseling in 1998. She has worked in a variety of community counseling agencies including an adolescent drug rehabilitation program, adolescent residential program, grief counseling agencies and mental health facilities. Since 2005, Lancaster has served as a school counselor at Mountain Brook Junior High. In addition to providing academic guidance, she conducts individual and small group counseling for students, coordinates Section 504 Service plans and other services for academically and socially at-risk students, and coordinates yearly registration and scheduling activities.

Lancaster is a State of Alabama Licensed Professional Counselor with additional certifications as a Critical Incident Debriefing leader and Bereavement Support Facilitator. She has served as historian for the Chapter IV Division of ALCA and in a variety of positions on the Alabama School Counselor Association Governing Board. She is a member of the Alabama Counseling Association, the Alabama School Counselor Association and the American School Counselor Association. Lancaster has specialty training in stress and anxiety management from the American School Counselor Association.

As far back as she can remember, she wanted to be a counselor who serves students, parents and our profession. At her core, she believes every child needs someone in their life that is irrationally positive about them. She is passionate about helping youth redefine their standards for living by teaching them ways to successfully navigate this challenging world. Lancaster has lived in the Birmingham area most of her life. She is married with one son and her hobbies include painting, reading, hiking and crafting.
