Honor Excellence in South Dakota

The South Dakota School Counselor Association is pleased to announce the addition of an electronic nomination form for the SDSCA Awards this year (paper nomination forms will also be available). Nominations will open December 1, with a deadline of March 15, 2019.
 
SD School Counselor Association Awards 2019: Nominate the best of the best!

• Are you working with an amazing school counselor who has successfully implemented a comprehensive school counseling program?
• Do you know a school counselor colleague who makes their school a better place by doing the work they are passionate about?
• Would you like to recognize them?

Three of the five SDSCA awards are specifically geared toward school counselors. Recipients of these awards receive a SDSCA membership for the 2019-20 membership year. Our school counselor-specific awards are:

• The Orv Schmieding Award
• The Outstanding Professional School Counselor Award
• The Rising Star Award

 Our other awards include the Special Contributions Award and the Administrator Advocacy Award. To learn more about the awards and the qualifications for each, and to nominate, visit our awards page.
 
After the completion of the online nomination, please send the two required letters of recommendation to sdsca.awards@gmail.com. Scans of paper nomination forms, including recommendation letters, can also be sent to the above email. These awards are presented at the South Dakota Counselor Association conference in May 2019 in Sioux Falls.
