Your Kentucky School Counselor Association board members have been working across the state to advocate for you!

KSCA President Linda Tyree spoke during the June 26th Federal Commission on School Safety listening session. The Commission (shown above), led by the U.S. Secretary of Education, Attorney General, Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Secretary of Homeland Security has been charged with quickly providing meaningful and actionable recommendations to keep kids safe at school. Linda spoke about how School Counselors can play a vital role in providing Social/Emotional Learning and mental health support, taking a proactive approach to school safety.
 
On July 9, High School VP Mary Lee Cooper and Linda Tyree (below) attended the Interim Joint Commission on Education meeting and the Safe Schools Working Group meeting held at Trigg County High School. They will address the Commission as part of a School Counselor panel at the Commission’s September meeting.


President Linda Tyree and Past President Stacey Russell (below) brought Kentucky’s voice to the national level by voting on issues at the 2018 Delegate Assembly in Los Angeles, Calif.
